Signature Generator

Draw your signature with a finger, mouse or stylus, or type your name in a handwriting font. Download a transparent PNG for documents and PDFs. Free, no sign-up.

Ink color

The PNG has a transparent background, so it sits cleanly on any document. Insert it as a picture in Word, Google Docs or your PDF editor.

Your signature never leaves your browser. Drawn signatures are not saved and disappear when you close the page.

How to create your signature

In Draw mode, sign on the white pad with your mouse, finger or stylus. Every stroke is kept separately, so Undo (or Ctrl/Cmd+Z) removes the last one and Clear starts over. Pen width and ink color apply to the whole signature, even after you have finished drawing.

In Type mode, enter your name and pick from a range of handwriting fonts, each previewed with your own name. Add a little slant and an underline flourish if you like the classic signature look.

Press Download PNG to save a tightly cropped image with a transparent background. Choose 800, 1600 or 2400 pixels wide; small drawings are re-rendered at full size, so they stay crisp.

Tips for a natural-looking signature

The pad varies line width with speed, just like ink: fast strokes get thinner and slow strokes get heavier. With a pressure-sensitive stylus, pressure controls the width instead.

  • Use the whole pad. Tiny signatures show hand jitter when enlarged.
  • On a phone, turn it sideways for more room. The page will not scroll while you draw on the pad.
  • Sign in one smooth go at your normal pace — retouched strokes tend to look artificial.
  • Blue or navy ink makes it easier to tell a signed printout from a photocopy.

Adding your signature to documents

In Word or Google Docs, insert the PNG as a picture, set text wrapping to "In front of text", and drag it onto the signature line. Most PDF editors also let you place an image on a page. Because the background is transparent, the signature sits cleanly over lines and text.

Keep the original file somewhere safe and only share it inside finished documents.

A signature image is not a verified e-signature

Many legal systems accept electronic signatures. In the US, the ESIGN Act says a signature or contract may not be denied legal effect solely because it is in electronic form, and the EU eIDAS Regulation says an electronic signature cannot be denied legal effect or admissibility as evidence just because it is electronic. But requirements differ by country and by document type, and some documents still need a handwritten or certified signature.

This tool only creates a picture of your signature. It does not verify who you are, record when you signed, or protect the document from changes, and anyone can copy an image. For important agreements, use an e-signature service that verifies identity and keeps an audit trail, or sign by hand. This is general information, not legal advice.

Fonts and privacy

Every handwriting font here is licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, so you can use the resulting image in personal and business documents: Ms Madi, Great Vibes, Allura, Alex Brush, Cedarville Cursive, Mea Culpa and Corinthia, plus Korean handwriting fonts for Korean names.

Your signature never leaves your browser. Drawn signatures are not stored anywhere and vanish when you close the page; only your typed name and style settings are remembered on this device.

FAQ

Is a signature image legally binding?

Electronic signatures can be valid in many places (for example under the US ESIGN Act and the EU eIDAS Regulation), but an image alone proves little about who signed. For contracts that matter, use a service that verifies identity and records the signing, or sign by hand.

Does the PNG have a transparent background?

Yes. Only the ink is kept; the background is transparent and the empty margins are cropped. If you see a white box in your document, change the picture’s wrapping to "In front of text".

Can I sign with my finger on a phone?

Yes. Scrolling is disabled on the pad so you can draw freely. Rotate the phone to landscape for a wider pad.

Is my signature saved or uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser. Drawn signatures are never uploaded or stored; only your downloaded file stays on your device.

My signature looks small or blurry.

Choose "Sharp (1600px)" or "Extra large (2400px)". The signature is redrawn at that size rather than stretched, so it stays sharp. If lines look thin, increase the pen width.

Can I use the fonts commercially?

Yes. All fonts are under the SIL Open Font License, which allows using them to create images for any purpose, including business documents.
